Colife’s latest ranking underlines Dubai’s attractiveness for expats
In a recent ranking by global rental service Colife, Dubai has secured a place among the five most affordable cities in the world for expatriates. This recognition is based on various factors, including changes in the real estate markets and the general business environment for expats.
Dubai shares this award with other renowned cities such as Oslo, Berlin, Barcelona and Lisbon. The Portuguese capital tops the list. The ranking takes extensive global studies into account. One of these studies is the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index, the Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report by StartupBlink and the Worldwide Work-Life Balance Index by Forbes Advisor.
This recognition is becoming increasingly important in the context of the growing trend of digital nomadism, where remote workers travel and work simultaneously, impacting policy and decision-making by companies and governments worldwide.
Ilnara Muzafiarova, CEO of Colife, emphasized that the analysis was aimed at people with above-average incomes who value their time and quality of life. The study also took into account people who prefer to delegate household tasks and avoid long daily commutes.
Dubai offers expats numerous benefits and is surprisingly more affordable than major cities such as London and New York. Colife’s service, for example, offers stylish apartments in popular areas of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, Business Bay, Al Furjan and JLT, from $1,800 per month with no brokerage commission or deposit. This rental price includes a 24/7 service, high-speed Wi-Fi, bill payment and a cleaning service.
Dubai is a cosmopolitan city with a developed economy and a high standard of living, with over 80% of the population coming from abroad. The city is home to offices of many large international companies, which makes it a pleasant place for expats, especially when it comes to language adaptation.
The Colife ranking highlights other cities such as Lisbon, Barcelona, Berlin and Oslo, which each excel in different aspects such as lower cost of living, creative environment and social security.
As the trend of digital nomadism continues to influence various sectors, Dubai-headquartered Colife caters to this growing trend by offering stylish apartments, a 24/7 concierge service and a variety of community events and networking opportunities. The company currently operates in Dubai and Istanbul and plans to open up further markets by the end of 2023.
